Keeping Busy

So, my entrepreneur husband has been traveling the same amount as he has been home and when he’s home he’s working 18 hr days. Right now I’m pretty much a “single” married parent. LOL That leaves me a lot of time with our 2 boys. Instead of waiting, which I’m guilty of, my boys and I need to keep BUSY. With them, idol time = trouble! They are 5 1/2 yr and almost 8 yr old after all. The age of mischief, I’ve heard.

The kids and I sat down and discussed things we would enjoying together. Here’s a short list of what we’ve come up with thus far.

*blueberry picking - there is no shortage of those in W.MI

*it’s peach picking season at the orchard - favorite place in the whole world is craneorchards.com

*Breakfast on the Farm - got our tickets and can’t wait!

*visiting a honey farm - how cool would it be to see HOW bees make honey?!

*get maple syrup straight from a tree (when in season)

*the beach

*the park - there are a bunch of really great ones including Timber Town

*feeding the ducks

*the zoo

*kids bike ride while I jog - great stress reliever for me and fun for them. It’s win win!

*nature scavenger hunt

*write our own story and maybe even get it in a hard copy for at home!

*make granola bars and all sorts of yummy treats

*now that Autumn is upon us, it’s a perfect time to start some fun projects and maybe start Harry Potter series with my kiddos. I purchased a book last year that shows how to make fun wizard stuff like wands, wizard robes, sorcerer’s hats, etc. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1993911.The_Book_of_Wizard_Craft  Wouldn’t that be PERFECT in the Fall with Harry Potter and Halloween? I’m so stinking excited! There’s also a great link to making the Harry Potter wand on www.instructables.com

So, here’s to some great times and new adventures! I’m gonna get my crafty on
